My name is Michael Garton and I am a photographer.
Growing up I spent a great deal of time rooting through the old, dented tin of photographs that my parents stored in their wardrobe – getting that glimpse into the past of the people that raised me. Being able to see my Nana in her land army uniform and my Grandad smiling again, made me smile so much it hurts and still does to this day – it’s only now that they are gone that I realise how important those photographs are to me and how they influenced me growing up.
The majority of people that come to me for a portraiture session avidly avoid the camera and often have done for years. They haven’t had professional portraits done, or often even been properly in front of a camera since their wedding day – No more “I’m not comfortable in front of the camera” “I’m too old” “I need to lose weight” and every other reason I’ve heard – it is my job to make you at ease and ensure you have a fun and relaxed time creating new, beautiful images, I will guide you through how to pose properly and naturally for your body shape, regardless of your dress size or age, I will help you create the most beautiful images you have ever seen of yourself.
As we get older, life tends to take over, we work, we raise our children, we almost forget to take time out to be ourselves – sometimes you need to take that time, not just to sit and relax for a snatched few minutes, but to remember to do something for yourself and also something for those future generations too.
One day those photographs will be priceless.
Everyone should exist in photographs, to be pampered, to feel beautiful and empowered, to reconnect with the woman that you have maybe forgotten a little along the way – why wait?
I look forward to meeting you and creating amazing images and memories.
